Call for Papers

Measuring Behavior

Measuring Behavior is the premier interdisciplinary event for scientists and practitioners concerned with the study of human or animal behavior. This unique community and its conference focuses on the latest methods, techniques and tools in behavioral research in its widest sense. The conference will take place in Aberdeen, Scotland, 15 – 17 May 2024. The venue is a very well-equipped new conference centre. It is close to the airport and has good frequent transport links to the city centre. As well as the scientific program, there will also be attractive social events.

Call for Papers

The Scientific Program Committee now invites you to submit proposals for presentations at Measuring Behavior 2024

All papers will be refereed through double-blind peer reviewed and the proceedings will be published by the conference (with ISBN and DOI) and available online after the conference. In addition, selected papers will be invited to submit for a special edition of a journal.

All submissions for oral presentations and posters must be written in English following the style guide for Measuring Behavior 2024 publications. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the conference, we are flexible about the submission length. We accept submissions from at least one to maximum seven pages long. In addition, you need to prepare a short (maximum 75 word) abstract for the website.

The deadline is 31 January 2024, 11 pm GMT.

Tutorials and Demonstration Showcase submissions are free format and also have a later deadline (18 February 2024).

Formats

Measuring Behavior 2024 offers a variety of formats for presenting your contribution:

  • Oral presentations in general sessions.
  • Oral presentations in specialized symposia (standard scientific presentations) or workshops (interactive discussions).
  • Posters
  • Tutorial sessions teaching about established tools and methods.
  • Demonstration Showcase with associated abstracts, for new inventions, prototypes, and products.

 Topics

The conference is open for any topic related to the measurement of the behavior of people and animals. The focus should be on tools and methods, not on results. To get an idea of the topics we are expecting, see https://www.measuringbehavior.org/topics. If you are not sure if your idea fits, feel free to contact us (Andrew@measuringbehavior.org) to discuss it informally.
