Aleksandar Dimov has been teaching workshops on the topic of physiological data acquisition and analysis since 2006. While at UC Santa Barbara he was an instructor for the Advanced Training Institute for Virtual Reality in Social Psychology. He joined BIOPAC Systems as an application specialist 11 years ago.
Benefits of the tutorial - In this tutorial we will present techniques for cleaning data from artifacts and performing signal-specific analysis on electrodermal activity and ECG data.
Participants will be introduced to:
• Automated, marker-based scoring
• Manual scoring
• Cleaning up noise using manual and automated techniques
• R-peak detection on noisy data
• Discussion of various causes of artifacts and solutions to recover data
• Importing marker data from The Observer XT.
This tutorial is of interest to anyone who wants to collect physiological data and wants to automate the analysis. Even though the emphasis will be on EDA and ECG data, some of the techniques would apply to most other physiological signals.
