Workshops
Measuring Behavior workshops are interactive sessions, and have included topics such as ‘wildlife surveillance with GPS, ‘measuring consumer behavior’ and ‘teaching a course in measuring behavior’. A workshop should not just be a series of presentations, but must include audience participation.
Procedure
The workshop chair proposes a topic, brings together a group of presenters, and submits an outline of the workshop to the program committee. You can use the form below to do that, but you are also welcome to contact one of the conference chairs or the SPC chair at any time (e.g. when you just have a title or idea) to discuss your proposed session. Simply copy and paste the form below into an email and send it to Andrew@measuringbehavior.org.
After your proposal is accepted, you can then complete the formal abstract (which will be published in the Program Book). Due to the interactive nature of workshops, the speakers’ abstracts are not published in the proceedings. However, it will be possible to submit a paper derived from part or all of a workshop to special editions of journals after the conference.
Sponsoring
The conference organization does not provide financial support for workshops. We encourage the organizer of workshops to seek sponsorship so that you can finance attendance of participants who might not otherwise be able to attend. There is no registration fee reduction for presenters, however, there is a discount for PhD students and a limited number of travel grants are available for PhD students.
Deadlines
The deadline for submitting a workshop proposal is 5th January 2012.
We will inform you as soon as possible if the workshop is accepted, but in any case before February 2nd.
These deadlines will not be extended.
